France, Italy, and China's 'Belt and Road' Initiative

European countries continue to be focused on bilateral agreements with China, but for the success of the Belt and Road Initiative a multilateral approach is needed. The Chinese BRI has the potential to strongly link together the two regions, but it is necessary to redefine the European strategy, to act together, not as during the recent visit of President of the Italian Republic Mattarella and French Prime Minister Cazeneuve, together in Beijing but without any cooperation.
