BRI projects in Brazil: a port at the entrance of the Amazon River

Pubblicazioni Easternational

With the cancellation of the TPP, South America is looking for new business partners. Despite the geographical distance, China with the BRI offers the perfect opportunity.

Between Asia and the American continent there is an ocean of distance, with no simple connections and remarkable cultural differences. However, Beijing is also trying to involve Latin nations, particularly Central and South American, in the Belt and Road Initiative. The ambitious 'doubling' of the Panama Canal project is just one example. Among the most growing nations in the area there is undoubtedly Brazil which, although still shaken by recent political scandals, has a growing economy and is, together with China, in the club of the 'Brics' countries.
